Out of every 1,000 people, only 5 of them properly wash their hands in accordance to the five-step procedure of wetting, rubbing, rinsing, cleaning, and wiping, a survey conducted by the Public Health Department, New Taipei City Government, shows. 17% of people do not wash their hands at all after going to the bathroom, while the majority of people take merely 3.5 seconds to wash their hands. The Public Health Department stresses the importance of properly washing hands since it is the best way to prevent contracting enterovirus.
新北市衛生局調查民眾上廁所後的洗手習慣,結果發現,平均每1000人,只有5個人,會落實濕、搓、沖、捧、擦的正確洗手5步驟,大部分的人平均洗手時間只有3.5秒,而且有17%的人,上完廁所不洗手。衛生局表示,「確實洗手」就是預防腸病毒最好的方式,請民眾千萬不要忽略。
