☆ inaugurate （動詞）上任;啟用
The newly-inaugurated Xinyi Line attracted more than 84,000 passengers during its first seven hours of operation. The east-west line, which essentially follows Xinyi Road, not only extends MRT travel from downtown areas of the city to the outskirts, but also helps raise the system’s overall ridership.
甫通車的捷運信義線在開始營運的七小時內吸引了超過八萬四千名旅客搭乘。這條路線基本上沿信義路而行，不但將台北捷運自市區延伸至郊區，也促進了捷運系統整體的搭乘量。
☆ acquaint （動詞）使熟悉
To acquaint people with the new system, free rides on the Xinyi Line will be offered for one month beginning last Sunday. On top of this, 94 shops along the line, in collaboration with the Taipei City government, will offer passengers up to 50 percent discounts on goods and services.
為了使民眾熟悉新的線路的轉乘，台北捷運局上週日起提供民眾一個月內免費搭乘的優待。除此之外，信義線沿線94家商店也配合市府政策，提供民眾商品多達5折的優惠。
